This past July, Dabs and Myla brought their incredible talents to the LA Freewalls Project in downtown LA. In this artist profile of the Australian Duo, they talk about Earthquakes, Street Art vs. Graffiti, and their favorite food, Vegemite!
Here is Brazil’s Andre Farkas. As “Treco,” he is one of Sao Paulo’s rising street art stars. No subtitles, but in a rough translation he is basically saying he left an academy and arts school because it was so boring talking about art instead of doing art and the beat up public places made him want to work on the city’s old walls. A few times he had problems with police (because the public walls are not so public… some owners forget the wall until he uses it for art) but he wants to communicate with people.
Shida is a heavyweight of Australia’s burgeoning street art scene, with large scale murals spread across the east coast and internationally. With an up coming world tour and continual success in galleries, things are looking bright for this young artist.
