Ryan Peters, best known by his stage name Spose, is a rapper from Wells, Maine. Spose began rhyming while he was in eighth grade, and started to pursue his rapping career in 2004. In 2007 he self-released his first album, Preposterously Dank.
In January 2010, Spose’s single, “I’m Awesome,” (from the We Smoked It All mixtape, a collaboration between Spose and Cam Groves) received significant airplay on Maine radio stations. In February 2010, after the song caught on in other parts of the United States, Spose signed a record deal with Universal Republic Records and announced that he would begin working on a music video. In March 2010, the video was filmed in Wells at the town-owned activity center where Spose had his first concert at the age of 14, and was released on April 14, 2010.”I’m Awesome” has reached #37 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Ronald Jenkees is an American composer and musician from Kentucky, best known for his Youtube keyboard performances, coverage on G4 TV’s Attack of the Show! and an appearance in Paste Magazine. His YouTube videos have been viewed (in total) over 39,000,000 times. Jenkees has thus far released two independent albums: the self-titled Ronald Jenkees (2007), and Disorganized Fun (2009). Jenkees first began playing music at 4 years old when he received a toy keyboard as a Christmas gift. With it, he learned simple melodies and played with friends. While still at a young age, he received a YamahaPSR-500. He attempted piano lessons in the seventh grade, but these were unsuccessful. Jenkees discovered how to sequence and layer music using his Yamaha keyboard, and began playing hip hop music. He joined a marching band in high school, and despite being unable to read sheet music, the band director let Jenkees create his own keyboard parts and “jam out” in state competitions. The band director encouraged Jenkees to learn to read music, but he continued to play by ear.
How this guy is still unsigned completely shocks me…cause he has true instinctive aesthetic talent. He was even featured on a STS9 album called, Peaceblaster: The New Orleans Make It Right Remixes, producing a remix of “Beyond Right Now”. If you like his tunes show him support and download his 2009 album Disorganized Fun HERE.
Recently there has been a UK dubstep artist that has seriously caught my attention and his name is Chris Snape otherwise known as Chrispy. Chrispy is an upcoming dubstep producer/DJ from North Wales, UK. Surprisingly, Chrispy is only 18 years old. He’s been producing dubstep since late 2008 and was signed to 2MUCHBASS Records in late 2009 with his first EP released at the start of 2010. He has made his official logo a transformers looking icon but with a lions head instead of the original autobot or decepticon logo. I have confirmed that Chrispy will be coming to Los Angeles in early December to play a set but for right now the location and exact date will remain under wraps. The only hint given to me was that it will be a big event. This kid is not even in his prime yet. I can’t wait to see what he’ll bring to the stages in the future.
