Magic Fountain EP Out Digitally
In the U.S. on March 15th

Australia’s Art vs. Science has already made quite the splash in their native country, and now they’re ready to show the U.S. what we’ve been missing out on. The band is coming over for a string of U.S. tour dates, which kicks off with an appearance at SXSW on March 19th. If you haven’t had a chance to check out Art vs. Science yet, download the Kissy Sell Out remix of “Magic Fountain” for a glimpse of the raucous party that the band is bringing our way!

The band has built a huge following in their native country off the back of two independently released EPs (both of which have gone Gold in Australia!) and thanks to their off-the-wall live show that has seen them ascend to almost-headline status at festivals around their native country. Now we’re thrilled to announce their first U.S. release, Magic Fountain EP, out March 15, 2011.

The EP, recorded by Berkfinger (Philadelphia Grand Jury) and mixed by Adrian Bushby (Two Door Cinema Club, Foo Fighters, Muse), is dance music made for Marshall stacks. Imagine AC/DC throwing robots in a drum shop. The songs that comprise the EP are huge, off the wall, unrelenting dance tunes that sound like hypercolor jams forged from sleepless nights and ADD (partly because they are).

SACK Magazine wishes you all a safe and prosperous 2011

Another year finished. New Years is one my favorite times of year. Its a time where we all get to start over, a time of new beginnings, and a time of family + friends. I personally am making the most out of this by setting goals for myself for 2011… things I want to accomplish, change, and eventually become. I look at the new year with a sense of hope. A sense of optimism.

You never know who you will meet tomorrow…

I have to thank the wonderful people here at Sackmagazine.com, the past year has been amazing and I cannot tell you how much I truly appreciate you being involved with this great cause. Remember why we started this in the first place… in memory of Patrick Daly… our dear friend. Pat looked at the world in a different light than all of us, but I think we all took a little something from him when he passed… and it remains with us forever. This new year we embark on a journey together and I would not want to do it with anyone else

                   – To my parents… I could not done with without you. Andrew Gauthier (My brother who I am thankful to have everyday), Kelly Rutherford, Shawn Fetanat, Alex Tregre, Kim Williams, Cory Meyton, John Mello, Stircrazy, California Roots, Tall Treez, the hundreds of artists and musicians who have joined the Sack Magazine community, and to the fans. Thank you for your support.

Happy New year everyone. I know this is not an alcohol commercial, but I feel the need to say “celebrate responsibly”, the new year will be much better if we are all safe and sound at the end of the this wonderful evening.  – SG – Founder

Did You Know 4.0

Here is a short video that gives us perspective about our convergence of information and communication and the role that technology is playing in that convergence. It will be exciting to see how this plays out in the next few years. Hopefully we will use these new technologies to inform each other about important issues like the election that will take place on November 1st and/or to diffuse the dissemination of false or misleading information, which is usually fed to the public by the mainstream media.
